Hypnos was the Twin of Thantos
According to Greek mythology sleep (Hypnos) was the twin of Thantos. Thus most of us think of sleep as equivalent of being dead. Of course we need this form of death, we can last longer without food and water than we can without sleep. So fighting the sleep is somewhat counter productive. Thus the Knitting all Night has to be interrupted with those periods of sleep. But physiologically it doesn't have to be all in one slug. So you get up, and you find yourself sleepless...cast off and lay down some rows. But a cautionary tale: these stitches may be very subpar, and need to be ripped out eventually, but then again: the re-knitting is as fun as the knitting.
